Never ending day on highway 101

Sweaty palms and white knuckles for most of the day as we traveled on highway 101 from the coast of California to the desert of Tuscon, Arizona. From 7:05am to 7:30pm, we drove, no we raced with a mission to get a good chunk accomplished as we were way behind schedule AND for a happy ending on my birthday! Dinner with Virginia and Larry from former sailing yacht, Rya, was quite special and put a smile on my face. Thanks guys!

Austin and Randall are ahead of Randi and I as we raced down the highway to keep up with traffic which was at sometimes 5 lanes wide just going in just one direction. I'm just not used to this!

I had no idea what this would be like when Randall suggested, "Lets go Rt 101. It will be faster and get you together with Virginia for your birthday." He really did have great intentions!

Finally, arrived in the desert of Tuscon, Arizona. Beauty in many ways at the end of our day's journey. I truly did enjoy reuniting with Virginia for bead talk and such.

Virginia emailed me just the other day. Just days after we left Tuscon with Virginia and Larry, there was this amazing sunset. Virginia took this picture of the desert sunset. In fact she raced out of her pedicure chair as she saw the evening may be right for this spectacular array. She was right! Great photography Virginia :)
